Despite the wickedness of U’ntil
and the evil he wrought, Krar could not deny the nobility and beauty
that the Dragon displayed. Perhaps Krar simply mistook the
divine spark from U’ntil as that of the Dragon’s own. Following
his example though, Krar took a shard of armor from his heart plate
and a sliver of his sword and forged the first Silver Dragon, Yethnogwethven “Bright
Eyes”. He possessed all of Krar’s desire for justice
and law, and his protectiveness of the land that was Kinthur.
Rk’tar would never allow his brother
to claim greater success than he and so another dragon was made. While
U’ntil used a piece of his body, and Krar shards of his weapon
and armor, Rk’tar would take the essence of his own twisted
soul and fashion the shadow dragon. With such a gift
the dragon known as Reapshircralfilth, Grim, was set loose upon the
cosmos. Gifted with the power to shift between the planes at
will, the shadow dragon chose not to heed its creator and ravaged
the lands and planes of its choosing for centuries in the name of
chaos and its own whims.
The gods move with a speed that mortals could
not comprehend. As Krar took from his armor giving his dragon
the strength of its steel, In’tak took from the music of creation
a single note and made the heart of the first Gold dragon, Ylidralethymindring, “Glimmer”. As
the gold dragon flies among the clouds, the wind chimes through their
scales making the music of In’tak.
Unlike the dragons of others, Halovine
chose to birth hers. From her own womb, Halovine birthed Lezonthrilgrethen, “Mother”,
and the first of the Bronze dragons. It has been said that
when Halovine forged her greatest of weapons, it was tempered in
the fires of Lezonthrilgrethen.
The god of mirth and mischief created Kilresgeithnepther, “Topsy”. Nun’til’s
humor and laughter gave birth to this odd looking beast, whose wings
appear upside down. He sprang forth from Nun’til’s
mouth as he laughed for three days at a practical joke pulled on
Fang. It is believed that the god was not aware that he infused
Topsy with more than a sense of humor. What’s laughter
but a way to fight sadness? It is said in the Chronicles of
Kinthur that Topsy could no longer take the laughter of the gods
and other Dragons and left the world, swearing to return and remove
all that smiled and smirked. To this day, the mention of Topsy
pains the god Nun’til.
She is known for her patience and caution,
like a cat stalking its prey and the Age of Dragonne was no exception. Seeing
that all the gods mistakenly gave something of their selves and instilled
a spark of the divine in their creations, T’sar was more creative. She
took from each of the dragons, great and small, a portion of that
divinity and wove from the pure magic of the Weave the greatest of
all dragons, one that would see the justice of Krar, the darkness
of the shadows, the song of creation and the myriad of all dragon
kind equally well. Taking the best attributes from all dragons
and adding her own respect for all things and the cycle of life,
T’sar created Grylykimnhegnir, “Rainbow”. As
a unique dragon Rainbow has the powers and respect of all dragon-kind. The
power she holds within her is so great it can only be contained for
a thousand years before bursting from her body and emulating her. At
that moment her soul travels to the clutch of another dragon and
she is reborn, to live for another thousand years. This attribute
is similar to that of the Phoenix, and they are close allies. Rainbow’s
new body will reach adulthood in a miraculous course of one year,
at which time she will measure one mile in length and an imaginable
weight (it is not polite to ask a woman’s weight). To
this day, Rainbow is the head of the Dragon Council. A loose
alliance of the most powerful of dragons, formed at the end of the
third millennium. Rainbow is both the voice and the bite of
this Council of Wyrms. |
